Garland House prides itself on the quality of the care we deliver. This is not possible without the dedication and professional attitude of the staff, a number of whom have worked at Garland House for many years.

Prospective staff undergo thorough assessment following the employment procedure of the home. Their suitability for work with older people is evaluated prior to them commencing work.

Jennifer Davis

Manager and Owner

Jennifer has spent over 10 years as owner and manager of Garland House and is passionate about providing excellent care in a friendly, quality environment.
She has been a Registered General Nurse for 30 years and believes that training is vitally important but that a caring nature and attitude is the key to a happy, vibrant and caring environment at Garland House.

Patricia Vidler

Deputy Manager

Pat has worked at Garland House for over 30 years and has been Deputy Manager for 12 years. This is her life’s work and has continued her care and management training throughout her long career.

The Team

We have an amazing team of 23 members of staff with an average of over 10 years in the care industry. We pride ourselves on having excellent, hand-picked, well trained local staff.
We have never used any agency staff to ensure continuity of care and to build up strong, caring relationships with our residents.

Manager’s Statement

We have owned Garland House since 2006 and are very proud of our reputation for excellent quality care within a friendly, homely environment.

We have a great team of staff, and I thoroughly enjoy my work and caring for our residents.

Garland House aims to assist residents to manage their own lives to the greatest attainable extent, and to treat them as individuals.

We want to enable them to maintain their dignity, independence and previous life style as much as possible and we ensure that they are able to make

choices about their care which is arranged around their needs.

The home is a happy place where residents are encouraged to have as high a quality of life as possible within the limitations of their physical, intellectual and emotional status.

Garland House staff will offer every assistance in meeting this objective.

We listen carefully to our residents, treat them with respect and help maintain their dignity at all times, and we recognise their individual differences and beliefs, and respect them at all times.
